Description
A skilled worker is a person who has successfully completed a training, acceptable to the competent authority, involving the manufacture, repair, overhaul or inspection of mechanical, electrical or electronic equipment. The training would include the use of tools and measuring devices.
IAT147 skilled worker training course is designed to train from zero and grant up to 2 year of experience credits in less than 4 months
As per paragraph 66.A.30 of Regulation (EU) No 1321/2014, whoever becomes a skilled worker can reduce the basic experience requireme for the Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML).
The reduction of timing for receiving the Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML) certificate depends on the category:
- A (A1, A2, A3, A4), B1.2, B1.4, B3: 2 years of practical maintenance experience on operating aircraft (compared to 3 years) à 1 year credit
- B1.1, B1.3, B2: 3 years of practical maintenance experience on operating aircraft (compared to 5 years) à 2 years credit
